Social Worker

My name is Heather Schuller and I am the Gerner early childhood social worker.  I am approaching my 22nd year of practicing social work and love every aspect of my profession and career. 

I graduated with my undergraduate degree in Human Services from Park University in 2002. In 2009, I graduated with my graduate degree from KU in social work.   I am passionate about family advocacy and believe that everyone child despite disability can learn and grow.  I use a strengths-based approach in all situations and always strive to provide data-driven services across all areas of early childhood.  In my free time, I love to quilt, go on nature hikes and spend time with my family and friends.  I have two children ages 13 and 9 and a house full of furry pets.  We are also huge Chiefs fans and love to attend sporting events.
