Desired Results Developmental Profile

Teachers at Gerner Family Early Education Center will be using a new formative assessment instrument called the DRDP to guide instruction and develop lessons based on students' learning needs. DRDP stands for Desired Results Developmental Profile, which is a Developmental Continuum from Early Infancy to Kindergarten entry. The DRDP was developed by the California Department of Education for young children and their families to support instruction and inform program development. 

A central goal of the DRDP is to identify a child's developmental progress based on typical, day-to-day behaviors. Teachers will be gathering evidence throughout all learning times of the day based on 8 key domains. the focus of each domain is on the acquisition of knowledge, skills, or behaviors that reflect development constructs.
